A cross section of the Kono District Development Association (KDDA) members had an inclusive meeting on Saturday 9th November 2013, at which all long-lasting issues were resolved. The meeting was hosted and chaired by one of the elders of KDDA, Mr. Saa Dingiswayo Nyandemo.

In attendance were: Mr. Komba Wusu Foday, Pastor Sahr Washington Gandi-Capio, Mr. Tamba Ngongoba Gbamoi, Chief Saa Y.O.Lebbie (Former Chairman of KDDA), Mr. Tamba John Ndomaina, Mrs. Finda Ngegba, Dr. Kai Ngegba (Chairman of KDDA), Mr. T.D. Apologies were received from Mrs. Agnes Macauley, who was unable to attend.

The meeting started with a prayer by Pastor Gandi-Capio. In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Meeting, Mr. Nyandemo admonished members that he summoned the meeting to trash out any outstanding issues amongst the membership in order to ensure that KDDA moves forward as a unified force. He clearly stated that the Kono People were looking forward to our leadership, and it was therefore imperative that KDDA shows and project unity of purpose in the motherland. He also stressed the need for all members to reflect on the fate of Kono District, and seriously consider the effects of our action and inaction.

Issues ranging from membership to KDDA court actions were thoroughly discussed by all in attendance.

The meeting was concluded on a fine note of peace and progress. Every member at the meeting spoke with one voice as we all affirmed our readiness to work together in the interest of progress and the development of Kono District. Demonstration of our unity was underscored by each member drinking from the same jug.

The meeting which commenced at 1800 hours lasted for four hours. In line with the KDDA modus operandi, the libation was poured by the KDDA Chairman Dr. Kai Ngegba, who thanked the host for the remarkable conclusion and hospitality, and asked God to guide KDDA and members to a new height.

Update On The Case Opel -v- KDDA. 21/10/2012

Please download the following document for an update on the case OPEL -v- KDDA (Counterclaim by Tamba Opel Sumana).

UPDATE ON THE CASE OPEL -v- KDDA (21/10/2012)

The case OPEL vs KDDA was adjourned to 16th and 17th October 2012 at 10:30 AM before District Judge Blunsdon at Lambeth County Court, Cleaver Street, Kennington Road, London, SE11 4DZ. Below is the court order from Lambeth County Court.

Summary of Court Hearing on 24/01/2012

Two cases were considered by His Honour District Judge Stone at the Lambeth County Court on the 24/01/2012. The case Tamba Opel Sam Sumana -v- KDDA, and the second case KDDA -v- Saa Sinah (Aka Aiah Sam Davies). The second case (Claim number 1LB02697) was consolidated with the first (Claim number OLB02212), OLB02212 being the lead case. Being a Directive hearing, a court room with limited space was used and attendance was therefore restricted to Claimant,Defendant, Solicitors, Barristers and District Judge Stone. Our Chairman Dr. Kai Ngegba represented KDDA as Defendant in the lead case and Claimant in the second case.

The lead case has been adjourned for eight weeks to give the Claimant Tamba Opel Sam Sumana the final opportunity to prove his allegation against the KDDA elections conducted on 10th September 2011. As of 24/01/2012, Tamba Opel Sam Sumana has failed to prove his case against the KDDA Elections. The status quo remains the same. The Chairman of Kono District Development Association (KDDA) United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Dr. Kai Ngegba and the other Executive members will continue to serve all and sundry to the best of their abilities.

His Honour District Judge Stone also ordered that the Court Order he issued on 26th May 2011 remain in place. This Court Order stops Tamba Opel Sam Sumana from purporting to be Chairman of KDDA and using the association's letterhead or corporate image for his correspondence or any other purpose. Those matters continue in place until the hearing of the present case.

In the second case, District Judge Stone ordered that the Injunction Order against Saa Sinah (Aka Aiah Sam Davies and also known as Sahr Sylvanus Sinnah) issued by District Judge Wakem on 2nd December 2011 remain in place. This shall remain in force until the adjournment hearing. This Injunction Order stipulates that Saa Sinah (Aka Aiah Sam Davies) is forbidden (Whether by himself or by instructing or encouraging any other person) to hold

a) himself out as an officer of KDDA
b) To use the letterhead of KDDA
c) To hold a meeting of KDDA and/or purport to hold election for      KDDA whether on 4 December 2011 or otherwise.

For ease of reference, a letter from our solicitor detailing the summary of the hearing on 24/01/2012 is attached to this email.

We are strongly urging all KDDA members to be vigilant and not be coarse into signing any document without thorough perusal. If in doubt or for further enquiries do not hesitate to contact the KDDA secretariat at anytime.

Thanks for your continued support.

Summary of Hearing 24th January 2012

The case:

Tamba Opel Sam Sumana -v- KDDA
